Morgan
'most of the rooms are kind of empty right now'
she says of her heart-house,
but that is untrue.
she is the pensive thinker of times gone by,
who one imagines bathed in candlelight
or perhaps kerosene lanterns perched on
oilcloth-covered tables
writing and writing in a smoking jacket, with a quill pen,
who loves jealously and guardedly
and of things unexpected and new
her originality unmarred by overt sentimentality
who gives space in her heart only to what deserves it.
her little hardwood-floored, dimly lit
house of a heart.
